OK, so today must be my mindless "play" day

Found another site to play on... I was making a couple mistakes so I slowed it down a bit. I haven't done these since high school!

A few more pages...

Inspiration abounds as I complete more challenges and speed scraps...much more fun than midnight madnesses I used to participate in and run! Those were great at the time, but now I've found a way to chat, learn new techniques and see other people's work without getting so distracted or bombarded with "how to" questions that I can actually get my own stuff completed! Any teachers out there?? You'll know EXACTLY what I mean! LOL

My other big project has been painting Kaity's room...I'll post pics of before and after later on...oh, and of course that Ethiopia book is keeping me busy!! I should be further ahead on it, but a lot has been happening lately!

Taking the plunge...

I have totally fallen in love with creating digital pages and really enjoy participating in the online games/challenges that also teach you new techniques. I've been researching CT's to join and I think I have found just the perfect start for me! I will be a CT member of Calalily Designs so be prepared to see lots of her work! This will be a new experience for me, but it sounds like it is very much like creating layouts for the challenges I'm already doing so I'm very excited about it! I'm still working on trying to get my blinkies to link properly and if she has one I'll be posting it too! So stay tuned...more to come on that front!

In the meantime...I'm working on that Ethiopia book for Adoption Ministry and am having a great time...it's different than what I've attempted before and I like how it's turning out...I'll try to post some pics of those pages later too.....gotta go pick up some purple paint and get it on a couple walls in Kaitlyn's room! =)

Learning everyday!

I'm learning how to do things on blogs and in digi-scrapping all the time. I made the blog banner and a siggie, but wasn't sure how to credit it, so here it is:

The following is the list of designers/teams that made the items I used to make my banner and siggie!
July Collab kit by Go Digital Scrapbooking
Pina Colada Breeze by Desert Designs
Little Garden by Digital Candy Sweet Tart Team
Sweet Coconut by Seni
Rainy Day Scraps
Surfer Girl by Sara Carling

5 minute wonder...

I am collecting the pieces to this kit day by day...it's a FREE one offered by Digital Divas Designs and it is beautiful! I created this layout in about 5 minutes...love it when that happens!

I haven't posted much lately since I'm working to complete a book for Adoption Ministry on their mission trips to Ethiopia. They will use it at their upcoming benefit on October 11th. =)

I Would Die For That

I found this online and had to post it since it relates to several years of my life!

Here are the rest...

Here are the other layouts that I couldn't get to upload last time. Each of these were submitted for a certain challenge, and then if completed by the due date...you receive a posting bonus of some sort. It's a great incentive and it's fun to see how everyone interprets the directions and what they come up with. It helps generate new ideas and I've "scraplifted" my favorites! =) I have a huge Ethiopia Book for Adoption Ministry right now...the due date is quickly approaching so I am keeping busy with that along with changing up Kaitlyn's room.

We put up bunkbeds in her room and now she prefers the bottom bunk to her Princess Toddler bed...which is fine with me. I have a bed rail on the twin size bed and she feels like such a big girl to crawl up in her "Big Bed" as she has named it. She wanted a "big stool" to get up on top and while we have a ladder for it I'm not telling her about it or showing it to her...she's such a monkey she'd try to get up there and that won't be happening for some time! Now the question is where to store her changing table and toddler bed...??? But both of those things take less space than trying to store the bunkbeds!

We bought the bunks from my best friend...they do come apart and can be 2 twin beds on the floor...you can see one pictured in the first layout up above...this is when it was still in Missi's room earlier this summer.

Home again

Kaity and I made it home tonight...U-Haul and all! I'm not sure if we are going to set up the bunk beds right away...but we may have to since we are limited on space! I'm just excited to have them! YAY!

Well, Fonnetta and I TOTALLY had an awesome time and it took about a day, but I got her HOOKED on doing digital scrapping challenges! We got a lot done in the week we were together...scrapbooking that is...not much of anything else. In fact, her hubby asked if the washer & dryer had broken....AND he ended up cooking dinner a couple nights...Thanks Mike! =)

Here are some layouts I completed...oh, and I have to share one layout she did just because it really lives up to the title she gave it....HILARIOUS! Here's her link...

A little R & R

It's been a rough slide into September, in fact, I can't even BELIEVE that it is September. Hubby is back at school and my daughter and I escaped to my friends house just to visit and pickup a set of beds! YAY..it's nice to have friends with older kids! =) We plan to have a great time scrapbooking and catching up before the weather turns and we become housebound until next spring....that is if we GET a spring in 2009! It's a bummer I didn't make it to her house earlier this evening because there was a speed scrap online I really wanted to do...but today's events just trying to get on the road prevented me from leaving at a decent hour!

I absolutely LOVED the online challenges I completed. I got 7 layouts done in 2 evenings....that might be a record for me as of this year! =) So, I'm signing up for several more and had to create a template to keep them all straight with web locations, directions and due dates. The freebies are starting to arrive from round 1 so I'm excited to see what round 2 will bring! I'll post them here as I get them done.

Camping Layout DO-OVER

I did complete the 8 Scrapping Challenges....YAY! But, I had to rush the camping one so much and it was really bothering me...so, I fixed it! I know...Type A personality kicked in yet again...but you have to admit this is MUCH better and I feel better about it being up on the web. Enjoy!

Phew...Power Scrap Night #2

Ok, so I found out about these online challenges a little late (since all had to be entered by midnight tonight), but I still decided I really wanted to participate! I think that's the most pages I've cranked out in a LONG time...and except for the 5-minute camping page (yeah...it was like 11:45pm when I started that one...*YIKES*) they are all pretty detailed. No matter how hard I try I cannot "slap 'n' scrap". My Type A (perfectionist) personality comes out and I want it to be *perfect*! Call it a character flaw I guess! So, needless to say I remain BEHIND on my scrapping!
